Message The theory of the HICAS is that it gives you oversteer on turn entry, for mid-speed turns, which many people like. It increases the cornering grip of the rear end during mid-corner, for all turns, allowing you to go faster around the corner and still apply a little power.

The theory is that anyone who can work with the HICAS will be faster with it than without it.

I realize you didn't go into this, but for completeness, I'll mention it: Steve Millen hated the feel of the HICAS (he couldn't work with it, and he was already awesome and didn't want to relearn to drive) so he had it removed from his race car. But that doesn't mean that HICAS is bad for racing.
